About a year ago there was a thread challenging forum members to find 500s on Google Street view:

I claim the top prize - here's a link to my own car on street view - and moving, not parked.

I'm not sure I'd want to encourage members to post links indentifying home addresses, but have any other members found themselves following one of the Google camera cars and been able to find the image later?

Before winning the top prize .. one question ... How do we know its you??
 
Since they've fuzzed over the plate, there's no absolute proof, so you'll have to take my word for it.

It was months ago, my daughter arrived home all exited having followed the Google car through Newchurch. It would be some kind of miracle if they'd taken another pass through the same town and been followed by another 500 of the same YeYe green.

It's taken until now for the Isle of Wight to come up on Street View.
 
I said to myself I would never post on here again but this really does make me laugh and makes me glad that my car isn't on Streetview at least at home or any place that I work.

There were issues with 500's getting stolen by people with hiab's a little while back and now someone wants to effectively create a database of places where someone can potentially turn up with a hiab and take a 500 away? Congratulations for allowing your enthusiam for the 500 to potentially put people at a greater risk of having theirs stolen.

Anyway, off to the shadows to me. I'll continue to look on but not participate, much like a dogger.

If anyone finds their car on Google and feels that they are at risk then they can a) not post the link here and b) ask google to have the image removed.

If you want to see mine in the flesh and steal it then you can wait in Newchurch for me to drive past and follow me. I'm bound to go through sometime in the next month or so.. Of course I'd rather you didn't, because where would I get another green one?

I had to follow a Google Streetview Cameracar for a couple of miles - it was doing 40mph in a 60mph stretch :bang:
 
I love Street View, it really is amazing. A few locals told me they'd seen the camera around here in Wales, and guess what? Checked Google maps last night and pretty much the whole of Wales has been done! It's a stunning piece of equipment. A few of my mates have uploaded pics on Facebook of themselves having been photographed! Here's the view of my town from the hill i live on, not bad eh? (y)

when did you make this decision and why??
 
I don't know why he's decided to 'leave', fair enough he got a lot of abuse from other members but everyone is dealt with in the same way, if people stopped taking the bait from a flamer then there wouldn't be a problem. If someone tries to start an argument, ignore them and stay calm. I've said it a thousand times but nobody seems to listen, then this sort of thing happens.
