Well its done in under 1 hour !
Thought it was going to be tough after watching a guy remove his turbo , dpf and a host of other bits to do it .
Truth is all that needs to come off is the plastic engine cover and 2 small heat shields by the turbo .3 x 10 mm bolts and 2 x 5 mm allen bolts .
Tools needed are a ratchet , small/medium extension bar , 8 or 9 mm deep reach socket and a knuckle/swivel joint , mine were 3/8 drive but 1/4 drive would give more room .
Also a 12" piece of rubber breather pipe helps to remove and refit the plugs , just push on the top of the plug and it helps to prevent crossthreading and overtightening , it acts like a flexible extension bar , just nip up with ratchet when its near tight .
Tips for the job are soak plugs with wd40 before removal and try to do it with the engine warm .
Hope this helps some out .

That is a super tip thanks, been putting this off for a while, just unde 40k miles, 9 1/2 years old and three plugs down. You are right the 1/4" dirves do give you that bit of extra room. Did not need the rubber hose though as I found a pair of long nosed pliers did the trick for getting them in and out. Thanks :)
