Due to certain things going on now, I'm not able to service the car myself.

I handed the garage a filter and a 5L jug of oil.

1.8L remains which means they've filled it with 3.2L. The manual says that my 1.4 engine takes 2.4 litres or 2.6 litres including the filter.

The guy didn't fill the filter up before screwing it on.

The oil is definitely over the marks on the dipstick but I can't see clearly how high up it goes.

Definitely won't be going to this place again :bang:.

2.6 sounds little low sure it isn't 2.8 as that what most small fiat engine's are 1.2 1.3 multijet and the 1.4 16v don't know what the 8v is but would assume it's the same
But as above try using a paper towel to try and see the marker better

If it is more than a sniffle above the max, it needs to be reduced.

Excess oil will be pushed out of every possible seal, and once a leak starts, it will not stop even after the oil level is corrected. Only fix is to replace the leaking seals. Front and rear crank seals will be first, but the internal pressure may also force it out of the camshaft seal too, and through the breater system to burn in the engine, possible causing damage to the catalyst.
