Yes I will. When I put the bypass wire in I will do afull check to see what is going on then I will order the new ecu and coil packs for it.

Tried the bypass wire and the damn thing still wouldn't start. New ECU i think

Hmm, Thats what I think. Virginised ECU now on its way, along with two coil packs. Why is it that I have to replace these at the same time ?

because if a coil has broken down and shorting then it will blow the output transistor in the ecu
more importantly you want to change the spark plugs and ht leads too
these are cheap enough via factors and will save money in fuel in long term

im seeing puntos with 10 years and original plugs still fitted...........not good

Right here goes. I have replaced the ECU (virginised), Coil packs and the crankshaft sensor I followed the instructions. However I still have the same problem. The fuel pump runs for a couple of seconds when you turn the ignition key. The immobiliser key figure goes out then the fuel pump stops. There is only power to the coil packs when the fuel pump is running. The spark plugs are dry and do not spark. The fuel gauge shows zero and the fuel light is flashing even though there is plenty of fuel in it.

Anyone got any idea.

yes I have read the codes, Nothing appears. There is only power to the coil packs for a few seconds when the fuel pump is running. Is this correct ?

No spark and no fuel past the injectors are classic crank sensor issues. Fuel pump stopping when system up to pressure is normal. Gauge issue is weird.

Did I not suggest that you got your ECU tested?

My best guess, wiring issue (or two). At the very least the fuel tank level sender is playing up (and usually they're extremely reliable).

Does MES say anything interesting/worthwhile?

no it doesn't say anything. Can't help thinking that the gauge flashing and the non start are somehow connected.

yeah but tried two different crank sensors now. Also both sensors tested with multi meter and both check out ok with correct resistance.

Have you had alook at the inertia switch.
(passenger side)

have you tried original cranksensor?
iknow you've put anew one on but in the past ive found brandnew parts
turning out to be fubard?

no not had a look at the inertia switch. I will do in 10 mins when I go back to look at it again
