Some well perished rubber there, and what looks like a split in the bottom swivel boot. I think I saw an '11 datestamp in one of those pics, so they were most likely the originals.

Changing those was a good call (y).
Doesn’t surprise me (being original) with this car ? thanks JR coming from you that’s a huge compliment ❤️

Good point didn't think of that, is there a long 1/2" driver bar that I can get?

Try the Sealey AK7302.

Easily capable of shearing off just about any corroded bolt on a car  (so use with heat & penetrating fluid if needed), and it'll get hub nuts off, too!

For really stubborn bolts, impact tools are more likely to shift it before it breaks - but they're harder on your sockets. I sometimes use a short (12") rigid bar & a lump hammer if I think something needs a sharp tap to loosen.

Take great care if using any of the above when the car is raised off the ground; a long breaker bar can pull a car off axle stands.

Hub nuts are best initially loosened when the car is on level ground, with all its weight on the wheels. Sometimes it also neeeds a second person in the car to hold the footbrake firmly on.

Thank you might have to invest in one, I have just got a Lidl impact driver that worked brilliantly on the brake pipe union(after cutting off the pipe) and already have some Sealy impact sockets that are really good at removing nuts that are a bit chewed up given the hex only head.
