General front seatbelts locked in reel , wont pull out

fiat grande punto evo 2010 both front seatbelts locked tight on reel and wont extend airbag/seatbelt warning light on dash, any help be very gratefull thanks in advance

Not had any knocks, bumps then maybe a sensor/short fault. Mate had one on his ducato, no fault shown on local garages ‘reader’ but had to go to dealer to wipe from ecu (passengers seat belt was wet through though)
Try undoing top mount, by your shoulder, and use that slack to release reel tension

is this ok a car you’ve recently acquired?

Seatbelts being completely jammed is possibly a sign the pre-tensioners have fired as this will lock/jam the seat belt reels solidly, and give the warning lights for the airbag system

ok many thanks for the inputs, also heard could be faulty ecu and can send away to be redone , ill try your ideas first thanks again
