FIAT ecoDrive

FIAT ecoDrive

Exactly what I thought would have happened... It's a shame we are unable to specify the costs of fuel.

For the record, over 3 days data, my score is 69 on the eco scale, driving as I normally do!

62  Is that your normal driving or was you really trying to drive economically to get that score?

I'm on 49 now but started off in the 20's lol and havnt really changed my driving. I think it varies becase im in rush hour traffic weekdays and probably driving a bit faster at weeekends.

Yep, my normal driving! :) Only had the car 3 weeks too, so still learning to drive it properly :D

Looks like my country isn't in that list in the application.
Any idea what's that field used for? like fuel price or what ?

Oh, was that the language ?

It uses the country to choose what petrol price to use, and also the units that it displays. The language is completely independent from that...

I installed it on my GP and started collecting data.
Being the inpetient type, I put the stick on the computer to check what was written on it. But to my surprise, only my music was there...

When I start the car I get the 'Ecodrive On' message. Is the no files behaviour normal? Does blue&me write files only when its buffer is full? Any ideas?

It seems to write the data as soon as it can, not when the buffer is full. Did you "prepare" the USB key using the ecoDrive desktop app? Is there an "iFiat" directory on your USB key?

Dammit, you lot get all the fun.

I WANT ECODRIVE ON MY BRAVO! (toys thrown out of pram)

Hey folks, The EcoDrive team seem a nice bunch. I Sent in my hack and got this back.

Hello,
We would like to thank you for your feedback regarding Fiat eco:Drive. As a result of the information you provided, we have been able to fix the issue you describe. This fix will be included in a version of eco:Drive scheduled to be released in approximately two weeks time.
Thanks again for your contribution,
The Fiat eco:Drive team

Thanks for the reply.
Apparently i used one stick to do the update and then just put in another that holds my MP3s.. That caused the problem.

I copied the iFiat directory from one stick to the other and now all is ok!

Got my eco score for the last 5 days, 56, not bad. However, It said I was revving too high changing gear. I looked at the acceleration tips and it states I should be changing gear up under 2000 revs, wot a load of BO%$*&KS, I defy anyone to drive a Tjet and to stick to changing gear under 2000 revs, tried it today and no way. lol. So I may be ignoring ecodrive from now on and just rag it instead. lol

Good to know - in future you can use the "Prepare USB Key" option to prepare a USB Key for use with eco:Drive - I'm guessing it won't record data to an unprepared USB key to ensure that your driving data doesn't get spread around 101 USB Keys...

Apparently it's coming early 2009...

There is an update available for eco:Drive. Just run the program and you will be notified to install the update. The new version is 0.9.2.23. I will check later what's new in it.

Edit: The install file hasn't been changed. There is still one line in the install file for version 5.3. I guess the "official" 5.2 version support will come in the next update.

That's interesting. You can download a program like Fiddler to see what internet activity is happening underneath the covers. If you feel like working out what is going on:

1) Install Fiddler (its totally safe, used by thousands of people worldwide)
2) Run Fiddler
3) Open ecoDrive.
4) Watch what happens in Fiddler - you should see some activity to the Fiat servers.
5) Take a screenshot of what fiddler is showing you
6) Send me a private message
