Chein life is hugely influenced by oil quality..
if youve had it serviced 'by the book' 120k is a more sensible point to have the set refreshed

Thanks. It's been reasonably well maintained as I've done it myself with oil & filter changes done annually and below mileage.

140k miles on my Panda Sporting so far on its original chain.
But it does get new oil & filter every 8k miles.
Have a friend with a Vauxhall Combi (same engine) with 180k+ on original chain. I think the rust will kill it before the chain has a chance to break though.
