Technical fan belt/alternator

Have a 900cc seicento citymatic, been having problems with screaching fan belt have read some of the solutions on here and decided to change the fan belt before investing in a new alternator. Changed it today and now the car only starts intermitently and cuts out. This wasn't happening before i changed the belt. Any ideas as to what i've done to it?????

Pleas check you have put all the little pipes back.

Do you get any warnig lights?

You've dislodged something.

The car should start and run without the alternator.
