Technical  Failed MOT

You’re not the worst on here at the moment for a thread that drags and drags and drags on….no names mentioned 🫤
I originally posted that hamster to the thread you're thinking about. It amused me greatly, so I thought I'd re-run it here. Last time I looked a couple of FF peoples were going to meet and help him. Will see.

Yes, go and sweat some of that “Monster” out of your system
It rained the whole time I was running, like I didn't get wet enough yesterday! :)

I went the coop on the way back and bought some lager, it was quite difficult walking passed the Monster! Had to tear myself away! :)

I'm going to toast the FF people for seeing me through.

Cheers people, thanks for your help!

While i was waiting for the MOT, a guy came in and asked if he could buy and bring in his own pads and discs for the garage to fit to his 2020 Ford Cougar. The staff said no and did the hard sell on him, they persuaded him to book the car in provisionally to have the front and back pads and discs bought and fitted on Saturday, for the price of £667.74.

The last time i was there, someone came in and they had a new Stop Start battery fitted for £250.

Are prices a lot higher? Am i just out of kilter with the modern world?

I think since Covid all prices have leapt up, just a walk through supermarket is crazy.
Thing is they go on about inflation falling but they haven't told the supermarkets.:(:(:(

The garage originally quoted me about £200 to change the droplink and clean the back brakes, but probably it was a selling technique, if i'd let them do the job then not long after i'd dropped the car off they might have been phoning me up saying "this or that" needs doing, and the price would have been a lot higher. If i'd refused then i wasn't getting an MOT, i'd have to pick it up, take it somewhere else etc. So perhaps i've escaped a £400 bill. Its hard to tell though.

Still, good for another year.
If you have just lost the drinking contest, don't challenge your son to the run as well.;););)

Apart from the clutch which is very high.

It took me about 6 weeks to change the clutch on my EVO. In hindisght it wasn't that difficult, but that may be because i just forgot how difficult it was. I need to dig up how many posts were in my clutch thread.

Edit: my clutch thread is below, only 168 posts! As this thread has 430 posts changing a clutch must be easier than a handbrake, droplink and buffing headlamps :)

You can just camp there, in front of that garage. Make some onest money.
Just... don't bring the hammer with you! 😂
