Styling F4usT - Silver B

there was few gallons of water under floor-mat. in the begging it was only small HHH and look now. shouldn't somewhere be some drain holes?

Yes there are moon shaped drain holes a bit further where your finger is.
See from under the car, of feel with your nail.
You probably need to open it.

Hi Guys,

F4ust, Where is your water comming in from?

Since my floor has been up, I was lucky there is no sign of any water or rust and the floors seem to be in good shape although my car has never seen much driving in the rain.
I,m curious to find out how your water is getting in.

As a precaution I have just resealed my joins with joint sealer and also used a spray cavity wax on the floor area to seal it.

Also added a few more bits of dynamat to the floors and area behind where the fuel tank is to lessen the vibrations.

Oli, Where are these drainplug areas, are they needed as I would imagine my floor area is totally sealed now.

You can't see them on your pictures THey are only in the feet compartment. In the other, where the seats are there are none.
There are 2 on each side, in the lowest rail towards the mid section.

to bad i don't have picture without that protection. but here i are some holes.
not sure where goes that middle one... i will check, but that rain is really annoying. when i'm in office it's sunny, when i'm at home it's raining. why is not opposite?

i found those "D" shaped drain holes, it was hard to see them. i open them by pushing with screwdriver. so all water now could go out.

I know most convertibles at some point in there lives get a little water in from there roofs but was these drain holes put there so that we can pour water in.

Is the Barchetta vinyl floor not water proof, When I wash my B I find a little water may seep in from the rubber around the window, and usually just lays in the well behind the drivers seat. A wipe and its dry.

What is the purpose of the drain holes.

here is where is leaking both on softop and hardop. i tried with watering can yesterday to find leaking points. i also adjust window a bit, but also need to change those plastic window holders on rails.

barch have very good floor, so all water remain on that plastic floor. just wipe with sponge to collect water. but my is so badly cracked, and soaked with water and i decide to remove it completely. waiting for nicer weather, and will create removable fiberglass floor, it will be like tub to protect metal floor.

F4ust, Have you checked your rubbers are not blocked or perished, Ive noticed there is a channel for water to run through the rubber to the bottom of the doors.

I've got leaks from the same windscreen 'shoulder' location indicated by F4ust. They're on both sides. The windows seem pretty tight fitting and the window rubbers look to be in good condition. Not sure where exactly the drainage channel is located though..

F4ust, If you look closely at the rubber, you should see that it fits into the other rubber thats seals the door. That seal has holes at the bottom and I would imagine this is to allow any water collected to run through.

hm... yes, i know. but i tought this is only to connect rubbers. ok. i will test with watering can and will post results.

Any luck with the gardening? :) I keep a cloth on the window sill to soak up drips when it rains.. I'm even wondering if water is coming in under the windscreen rubber surround at the circled top corner of your picture

thats an easy fix too, just grease IT in with some ( use acid free) vasiline every few weeks. It does the trick with me
I had the same problem with hard and softtop as well
