Right, got the go ahead from the bank manager (wife) for an engine swap. Really want to go for the 1242 75 engine or 1242 16v. I read the old posts and it seems the main sticking problem for both is the MPI intake manifold which fouls the bulkhead.
Any solution? I could try to cut the bulkhead and weld an angled piece to suit, but I'd have to add stiffeners cos the firewall is structural (or am i wrong)
Other than that someone mentioned fitting a SPI inlet manifold. Other than the obvious problems (does it fit?)am I going to lose power by reverting to single point injection or doesn't the manifold affect the MPI/SPI?
Lots of questions I know but when I start looking for the engine I don't want to go for the wrong one.
