Hello. Does any one know where to plug in the external temperature sensor n Ducato 2008? I dont have it in my mirror so I want to add it. The problrm is that there is no cable going to it also so I need to add a cable. On one sied of the cable I will plug in the sensor and the other I will plug inside car. But I dont know to which pin.
The LCD has the temperature enabled because it displays ---C.

Perhaps this video will shed some light. Also what can happen if a mirror without a temperature sensor is fitted to newer models.

Ok, so watching this it seems that I should look under door covers for the cable. I will check that later today if there is an connector and get back to you with info.

So I checked and there is a connector there. I will buy a sensor and that should work. The problem is that the sensor has 2 cables and doesnt come with a connector and the connector in car has 4 wires. Which wires are for the sensor?

Not sure if this is relevant to your vehicle, mine is X/290 but the mirrors have supposedly not changed....

In the image attached the 4x2 grey plug is the one for the temperature sensor. In the orientation shown (you should be able to work things out from the position of the retaining lug) the wires are attached to the most LH top two connectors. (Which are 1 &2 on the plug, you can just about make out the 1 in the top LH corner). A bit of thinking should reveal the appropriate wires on the other half of the connection.

As it's a resistive measure, I suspect it doesn't matter which goes to which (but don't quote me).

Ive checked 2 sensors and none work. My connector that is on door has 4 cables(starting from left: red/gray, green/gray, white/gray, purple/gray). Ive tried connecting to the 2 on the left(red/gray, green/gray) and nothing. So Ive tried the other two(white/gray, purple/gray) and also nothing

Does it need to be turned on via MES?

PM in which part of Poland you are located ;) I have a full version MES and appropriate interfaces :)

If you have ---C on your dash LCD visible, it seems that the function has already been activated in the body computer. The most likely some cables or the sensor itself are missing.

It seems you have a EUR4 Ducato, so check this video:

Apparently it will work only on the Ducatos with bigger LCD.

Ok, so I got it to work. Turns out that the connector in floor inside the step was all rusted from water. Ive changed the connector to WAGO conectors. Pluged in a TERMISTOR NTC 10K5% and it now works perfect.... even on my small display(check the attached picture)

Good to know it is also possible to activate it on the small LCD :)

I've tried to activate it yesterday in my Ducato, but I failed :( It cannot write the proxi alignment to the Dashboard component. Tried it for Ducato Natural Power and Panda Natural Power as suggested in one of the videos...

Maybe for small LCD it should be activated in another way. My was already activated when I bought it so I dont know how to do it.

I've got a big LCD, so I assume it should be done in the same way as on the video. But I have another body computer and NQS (LCD) than most of you have, because it's not a diesel :D

The right bottom corner of the display is showing the gas level. Perhaps it is not even possible to activate the external temperature in my case, as there is not enough space on the LCD. I know there were Natural Power Ducatos with pneumatic suspension, which is also using the same LCD... Possibly on the left bottom part... But I think I've seen the external temperature sensor available as an option on the option list for the Natural Power Ducato.

So, after the upgrade to MES 5.1 I managed to activate it in the Panda Natural Power menu with no problem at first try :D

Despite I have the sensor in the mirror the displays shows ---C :( And MES reports temperature sensor error. The connector under the step is OK. I will be checking the wires to find the faulty part (wire, connector) from one end to the other...
