they are one of the cheapest I have found. Typically a complete system including CAT will cost around one hundred and sixty pounds.

Mags

they dont have my system. I have a flex pipe where the Cat should be.

yes the cat is behind the manifold, so what exhaust do i need or what exhaust can i get away with.

Hi - My wife is a new proud owner of a second hand 2001 Multipla ELX 1.6 ( petrol ). Unfortunately, the exhaust has started to blow and needs replacing. I have visited at least 5 local exhaust dealers to get a replacement. All of which gave me a price before actually looking at it ( based on car spec / Car Registration / Engine Number ! ). Upon visually looking at it, all but one decided they could not get a replacement. Kwik Fit ordered a replacement. When it arrived, it was totally wrong. As in the previous thread, the cat is located in a shield directly off the manifold. There is then a long flexible pipe before running through 3 box's to the rear end. NO - ONE can get a replacement ! I know this sounds odd, but everyone is confused. I have spoken to Fiat dealer over the phone who also sounds confused. I wanted to avoid having to take the car in to Fiat and paying their extortionate prices - It appears Dick Turpin was actually a Fiat dealer !

And oh ! The car has also started cutting out at traffic lights / junctions etc but I assume this is something to do with the faulty exhast which is blowing badly!

Hi chaps , try these people they have allways been cheap for all my alfa bits and do wishbones for £18 a side but you have to phone them for that.

i know they list 2 for the 1.6 but remember aftermarket exhausts are not allways the same as oe ones. and also if its only the middle bit why not get it made by an exhaust specialist.

not sure where you live but Chester exhaust Supplies (ces) supply most exhaust retailers in the northwest and they have a counter where you can go and buy they also have diagramatics to look at first.
may be worth a call ,they supplied me with a weird (lhd) non uk bmw pipe a few years ago and i have never been anywhere else since.

Hi guys

Finally got my exhaust problem sorted out.( Fiat Multipla 2001 1.6 ELX petrol ). It appears that my model was only produced in 2001 over a short few months before being modified. The exhaust comprises of :-
1) Cat ( Bottle cat attached directly to manifold which can't be seen by simply lookung under the car at ground level )
2) Length of flexi pipe ( approx 1.0m long )
3) 3 box's which make up the rest of the exhaust and comes as a SINGLE unit.

Kwik Fit were able to provide a replacement ( eventually ). Their reference codes for your information are:-

2) Flexi pipe = SPECE-CFT057 = £120
3) 3 box single unit = SPECE - LPFT057 = £249

Thank you to eveyone who responded to my problem ( including Dick T ! );)

They sell really cheap parts but the quality of them aren't as good as OE. An exhaust isn't a safety issue but I personally wouldn't fit their suspension parts.

My other owners club compared a front wishbone from them with one from another supplier, the buyparts one was a Czech or Polish one and didn't look anywhere near as good.

Hi Bikeman, thanks for the info.

Problem is, Kwik Fit and several other local exhaust dealers all found cheaper alternatives that came in a dual box and back box sections. Unfortunately, non of them fitted my Multipla ! Not sure why, I think lengths and brackets different. The only one that eventually fitted cost me £249. I suspect the exhausts you have referred to wouldn't fit either !

Thanks for input anyway - I guess we'll never know for sure !
