Hi,
marmite may need new front suspension and all the 'hardware' ie springs and drop links.
Had the drop links done last September but our roads are so bad in the countryside it's more like spot the tarmac! and driving in the dark on unlit roads can be something of a challenge!

Ok so back to the question....Has anyone bought these bits from europarts and were they any good?
I may have answered my question as I got the drop links from them and a couple of years ago bought a crank sensor which sometimes worked! fiat garage fixed that!
I am planning to keep the car for 2 years which is a low milage (50K) 1.2 eleganza so prepared to fork out, but not too much.
Thanks in advance for any replies and experiences of the aforementioned!

They are no better or worse then anyone else they simply sell the parts nothing is made by them there just a motorfactor
For anything fiat I'd look at shop 4 parts see if they carry the stuff first

There also car parts for less (same company as Euros) that you can also look at

Donated members get a discount code for CarParts4Less too :)

Watch their prices some things are expensive.

Look out for codes. Often you can get tings with a big discount.

Receiving the wrong part is common

As an example on the A Class to change the timing chain without removing the engine you have to split the old chain and attach the new chain and feed it round.

I order the more expensive branded one. When I collected it the make on the box was for the cheaper one.

After getting the difference refunded I took it home only to find it was the complete loop type. Took it back. Replacement arrived next day also the wrong type.

I still use them occationly if there's a 50% off deal. You just have to accept it may or may not go smoothly.

To give you a ballpark: Two droplinks fitted by a local garage for £50 all in.

You can do it yourself but.......y'know.

Some years ago when Crosland went bust, ECP bought the right to use the name; nowadays they get parts made wherever is cheapest (IIRC most of the filters come from China) and put the Crosland logo on them, so most of their current Crosland range is rubbish.

But for branded parts, they're OK; just check to make sure you can't buy cheaper elsewhere.

We have one of their depots about a half hour drive away. I have bought a small number of things from them, brake pads, a track rod end, plus gas. Just another factor, as has been said in this thread. My local factor SRS, are just round the corner and usually beat them on price so I've pretty much given up using them. I too have heard that substitution can be a problem with them but have no personal experience of this.

Recent purchases for our own Panda and my boy's Punto from Shop4parts has been a very happy experience. Excellent quality parts at very good prices. Very substantial savings to be made and either original parts or similar quality after market. Very quick delivery too (on the three occasions I've so far used them). So, it's S4P for me for most of my Fiat parts from here on in and, don't forget, donated members get a useful extra discount.

We also have a Skoda and a Seat in the family. A number of years ago I discovered TPS who have a branch on the other side of town, so a wee bit of a drive but again VAG approved quality parts at good prices with some cheaper alternatives but still VAG approved.

The Astra and Jazz survive on SRS offerings except for oil which I buy on line as I like Fuchs, which I use in them all (not really sure why? Just like it, it's German so by implication good quality? And you can find it at very reasonable prices.)

They're good, but always check prices. Sometimes they're the cheapest, sometimes they can be double the price of elsewhere.

I swap between ECP, Carparts4less and mister-auto.co.uk (drum pads were cheapest at Mr A this time, where as most other parts I've got from ECP and a couple from CP4L).

Always shop around. Only takes a few seconds to check prices (y)

I've bought parts off GSF over the years and found them to be very good. I get regular emails from them offering discounts. Last week it was 60%.

Looking the top of there website discount codes are nearly always advertised up there
Nearly daily theres a sale on with them

Nothing today that's any use to me but will keep an eye open. (Anyone want a MultiAir actuator for 1/2 price?)

I'm looking for a Panda clutch master cylinder. Everything else is now new so want to go the whole hog and have it sorted. But over £100 for the cylinder with reservoir and pipes is not exactly low cost. (similar prices elsewhere BTW - so not dissing S4P)

Not sure if I remember correctly, but....
If you don't need the pipe, I think the 500 one is the same...but cheaper.
May be worth checking out.

Is it the same part for the lower models.

I have noticed if you have a GTI type car and you search on these sites they only list the more expensive parts

For example clutch i was looking at recently for a performance car. The diesel car was the same part number. But were priced differently? Guess they think if you can afford the insurance you can afford an extra £50

I was surprised to see that the 100HP and 1.2-60 both use the same clutch and hydraulic systems. However finding a bare master cylinder - without reservoir and pipes is not so simple. Images (for what they are) suggest its now a crimped together assembly.
