General Erratic tick over

Hello everyone.
I hope somebody may be able to help with my problem?
Panda 2004 1.2, 55,000
Over the last few days it has developed a fault with the tick over.
Found this video on the forum for the same fault with a Punto

Mine also ,sometimes, has astrong smell of petrol on start up

Anyone have a pointers please?

Assuming you cannot find a fuel leak, petrol smell suggests you have a spark missfire putting neat fuel down the exhaust. This will give low power, erratic idle and soon enough damage to the exhaust catalyst.
