Does the 500 have an engine under tray as standard?
I'm asking this as the missus has just driven through a small flood and the engine management lights have come on, they've gone off now but I don't want any more problems with this car...
I'm tempted to fit a tray if they are available.
Thanks.

I have seen undertrays on eBay from time to time at around £45. I think its a good callas would greatly reduce exposure to puddles. I suggest you spray the area with some suitable moisture repellant in the interim. If you have an under tray fitted check after service they have put it back. My Panda 100 tray was conveiently retained by the garage after a service and I never got it back.

I'll happily say this car will never see a "proper garage" while it's owned by my boy, after all I want it looked after properly now 😁

I would have thought there wouldn't be so many sump issues if there was an undertray.
Was it only on certain cars or ages?

Just been through this and the answer is depends.
Get back tomorrow with more information.
But, the short answer however is simple to buy and fit. IF the locating holes have not been buggered.

Look or feel at the rear of the bumper support bar for 2 brackets. They are 55cm apart at the bolt holes for the under tray. Bolts to bar are at 53cm.

If the brackets are not there you will need parts 51806279 (right) and 51806280 (left). If you do this check that the holes are in the bar. If not you'd need to drill and nut rivet.

All fixings should be M6 bolts. 2 to bar and3 pairs for the tray. The front of tray simply slips onto the bracket and bolts.

The middle pair of bolt holes have captive nuts. I used the left but had to drill and ultimately insert 6mm rivnut.

The rears are butchered on mine.

So I decided to modify the tray by shortening it and using 2 other 8mm holes, which I'll plug to fix.

I bought the tray from Trade Vehicle Parts on eBay £36 delivered. Comes with heat shield.

Hope this helps.

I got a sturdy metal one from eBay a few years ago I think it came from Romania was pretty expensive too but it’s one of my better ideas!
It came with 4 brackets and bolts and it’s protected my engine ever since!
My sump is corrosion free and dry … must admit I can’t imagine driving a car now without one!
