I did a b&m disconnect, and proxi alignment on a 500c on saurday. Its apparently not discharging the battery as fast but its still going flat over 3 days.

During the job I noted

A new blu tooth head unit. Didnt not the make.
Also a small black box under the dash with a flashing red LED.
Boot would not open, tho the roof was down at this point.
Bootlight bulb missing (replaced)

Im proposing to
Recheck charging,
check earth leads its 2016 and in good nick, so not expecting a problem
Check for parasitic battery drain
Check powerdrain from boot lock/ light /and radio circuits.
Try and reserect the boot lock and light

Any ideas re the led or otger suggestions would be welcim Any ideas what the LED could be?

Have you got a towing hook installed?
Could also be an alarm system.
A bluetooth device.
A GPS tracker.

How many cables are attached to the box? What colours are they?

Are there any markings on the box?
No tow hook, and I dont think alarm but will ask. It could be a tracker I suppose but I suspect its part of the after market radio thing. If I get the car back I will take some pics. I was knackered when I noticed it. Im wondering if its looking for something to be attached to that radio head unit and the cause of the battery drain.

A 2016 500C will have the longer boot-lid cable so unlikely to be broken wires. In any case the cable has no rubber gaiter and it's fairly obvious if there's any wear and tear. Mine had the shorter 2012 cable of course and the white wire was eventually broken resulting in no boot light. The outer wrapping on the bundled wires actually split years before any issues with the wiring.

No idea on the red LED but it could be connected with steering wheel buttons or something.
