Hi,
I've just fitted a Punto 1242cc 8V engine into my Cinq. sporting, using your superb forum for all the help that I needed! I also obtained the Punto wiring loom and ECU. It is obviously mapped/ programmed for the Punto engine, so is there any advantage in using this ECU? I notice that the ECU connector plugs are not compatible, but I am sure that I could work out the wiring from circuit diagrams.. Another strange occurance :- I have two Cinq. sportings and the ECU in one of them just wouldn't allow the fuel pump to run... no way! So I swopped them between the two cars, with the result that the first car now DID work and the fuel pump ran, BUT SO DID THE OTHER, WITH THE APPARENTLY FAULTY ECU !!! Well, can ANYONE give me an explanation for that, please? .... because I haven't got a clue! thanks for your help.....David
