Technical Engine stop error on Fiat 500

Hi. Have recently brought a 2008 Fiat 500. Went to start it last week and didn't start. Message on dash saying "Fuel locked". Indicators and lights worked but nothing else. Towed it to the local garage where they had a look but couldn't fix. They sent the ecu unit off to a specialist and they couldn't find a fault. It has been put back in but still not starting. Does anyone know what else I could try???

Fuel cut. Off is a FirePrevention System

That can be triggered quite easily..

However - with a 15 year old 500...

Favourites for strange electrics are..

In cost order..

1, Battery to Chassis to Motor Earth cable ( they rot internally)

2, Damp electrics from rainwater.. Fusebox lid and Scuttle Drains..

3, Damaged wiring at tailgate hinge search 'maybelline'. On here

The fuel cutoff on the 500 is controlled by the airbag ecu.

Hi. Just checked with garage and both units were sent off and all clear.
