you need to get that pipe replaced/repaired to rule it out. could be a poor seal on the manifold that only shows as the metal expands through heating.

not being funny but you need to start doing things to eliminate them.its one of those faults where its unlikey someones just going to pop up and say its x,y or z for sure

Good suggestion on the seal, I'll start work on checking the seal and the split pipe this afternoon, I'll keep you all posted and thank you all very much for every suggestion so far!

double check all the mounting bolts (including manifold to head, you never know?) are tight as well, and check around all the gaskets to see if it's leaking from there. Other than that maybe your ECU is having a major flap? Might sort itself out with a few miles? Our 899 back fires and feels a bit sluggish when you change something. is fine within 10 miles or so? even better after 30-40 miles?

Didn't see this thread before answering you mail.

I read that you have fitted you old TB again to solve the problem but the problems are still there.
It could be a hose in the wrong place or a hose that’s bin damaged.

Like others have suggested: check the thin hose going from manifold to MAP-sensor - If this hose has a leak or is stopped it will cause a bad idle and/or poor running. Could also be the two vacuum hoses has bin switched on the back of the TB - the blue hose, going to canister, has to sit on top of the other one. (Normally if these two hoses are switched the idle is higher than normal - is this the case?)
How is idle? Normal or dodgy? Does the engine struggle to start if you don't use throttle? Have you touched the 4mm screw that stops the butterfly?

Is the potentiometer in the right place? Are you sure you haven't turned it upside down?

It would help allot if you took some pictures of the TB in place so I can se the wiring and the hoses on the back of the TB.

Well had a look, as far as I can tell its all in the right place,

I just want to say that:

THE TB IS NOT TO FAULT, ONLY MY CLUMSY HANDS IN SWAPPING IT OVER

Of that I'm sure, whats a potentiometer?

Its booked in to a garage on thurs, they are gonna check all of that, including gaskets and sparks and leads.

I'll let you know how it goes
