hi guys I'm going to replace the top engine mounts 2011fiat panda 1.2 petrol will I need to support the engine, /gearbox while doing this please

Yes. Have a look at ePER. It may well give a procedure. These mounts hold the engine, so if you take them off, unsupported it wiìll efectively fall out. If you support on jacks you must spread the weight. Best to use an engine hoist. May be a ratchet strap or two, and you need a strong beam to support the weight.

I use a plywood cradle under the engine that bears on the sump joint flange. It works well for temporary support while changing timing belt or anything where the engine mount has to come out. Always use top support when removing more than one mount at once.

Long term support needs a crane or a cross-beam above the engine with an adequate ratchet strap.

Gearbox mount is fine with the jack under the gearbox.

Koaler what's your thoughts on the engine mount can the rubber be replaced and if so what your thoughts on a silicone replacement is the rubber encased or is it a loose pop in replacement TIA
