General Engine Help URGENT!

Tony, my car does the same, as does every selecta i have ever known, its a trait of the CVT (my mams old volvo 340 CVT did the same). If your looking for advice, i have always found that King transmissions (i think thats the name) are fabulous (y)

Well, it's also because unlike torque converter auto boxes the panda's got a clutch which can make it a bit 'on' or 'off' power giving the odd jerk...

I still say change the fluid and filter....

Well i was a little concerned it was unusual... but i can live with it... but if a new filter/oil will make it smoother thani think i may have it serviced at manchester... £50 seems like a bargain to avoid developing neck muscles like Mike Tyson...

The Oil is Tutela CVT Universal (the old OiliFiato stuff)
The gasket is part no 9942867 £ 8.62 (not including VAT)
The Filter is part no 9945540 £62.02 (not including VAT)

See the next person that says pandas are really cheap to run... Mmmm

You'll probably find that it's never been done cause of those prices.

Thankfully all the best bits of my selecta (in other words not that bloody box!!!) are ending up in Sylvia. Steve and I are going to swap the interiors round some weekend!

My Alan just looked at me tonight thou his flu induced drowsiness and mumbled...

"Not those bloody pink seats again???"

hehe!

To Alan D.
"Every thing about the box is expensive" if you go by Fiat IPER prices. The belt for the auto box is quoted at £700 but if you contact JPAT in Bristol they supply them ( the same item not a cheap copy ) for £199. That may seem a lot but you should see one of those belts, they are a work of art.

What is a rip off, is the prices of the oil, gasket and filter !
Rgds,

Tony Picked the engine up this morning.....unfortunately the pics are crap I'll take better ones later.

I had batton (officer safety) training yesterday had to move 2 huge organs (piano type things) to the tip this morning and lift the the engine into the back of the Panda. I can't think of a muscle or part of my body that isn't F***ing Knackered.

I didn't but can't say the same for my hands or the state of the rubber mat :(
You know you love it!

The engine looks ready to plug in... fingers crossed :)

I think you already told me I had no chance of getting hold of your rear hatch internal panel before... damn.

I've trimmed it Tony :) it's a 1997 engine but can't find the part no or engine No. Overall it looks very good, Valve & valves stems are very clean no sign of gunging.
yeah the enginelooks a lot cleaner than the one in the engine bay of the selecta.
