driving along at 60 mph beep beep warning engine failure :eek: pull on the hard sholder turn off start same warning. fiat sthelens say £45 plus vat to put it on the diognostic hoping it the dpf as of late my turbo has sonded loud and whisely any idears should i even drive it :confused:
 
WE had the same warning about a 3 weeks ago. It kept saying for a week until I had to go down the A1 and the next day it was gone and hasn't been seen since so I was happy the 2 days ago the rear box drop off whilst doing 60mph:eek:

No don't think it is connected I lost the rear box of the last doblo as well must be a common wear thingy.

I did loook in the manuel and it some think about jets being block so I geuss the run down the A1 cleared them as it was only going around town for a good while before.


I'm sure some one with real and correct knowlegde will be along soon.
 
cant beleve it same thing happend again, last time fiat sthelens put it on the diagnostic said everything fine reset it and now 10 months same thin 5 days befor we drive down to cornwall
 
Why not buy a code scanner or Fiatecuscan and check out what is wrong yourself? They are not difficult to work and the cost will pay for itself after performing one or two checks on the car - just a thought.:)
Might also give you some peace of mind.

maybe a good idear to get an ecuscaner,

t it,s 1.9 120 dose have the stupid dpf the miles 55k 2006
just took it to my local auto electric garage said he will diagnostic it sometime today fingers crossed il post let you now the outcome
 
Just got it back from the garage thay give me a bottel of injector type cleaner put it in with some fule told me the engine warninig light will come on(it has) take it for agood few runs on the motorway bring it back and thay will reset the warning im not to sure though
 
got the codes for the problem 1 was p1206 DPF(n)(n)
and p2002 dpf below optimum threshold needs forced regeneration got it booked into fiat sthelens in the morning so we we see:idea:
 
Honestly mate, get the DPF knocked out and the engine remapped. We got it done on my wife's Doblo and it is like a different car. No more DPF problems and yes it will still pass an MOT. Find a local independent Fiat place and not the dealers who we have found to be dodgy in their knowledge to say the least.
 
@rokie123 that is what im thinking get rid of the dpf how much did it cost for the remove and re map??(y)
 
We got a local exhaust place (they make custom exhausts) to open up the DPF can, knock out the innards and re-weld it back together so everything looks as normal. They charged £80 for that part. We then got the DPF deleted from the ECU and an economy tune on the car for £200. Straight away the car was not only faster, but it was considerably more economical. The only thing is insurance. You should really let them know that you have a modified exhaust and have had a remap to keep things right.
Our company charged us £30 more on the premium. They also told us that had the remap been for performance and not economy that the premium would have gone up by nearly £100. Total all in including higher insurance was £310.
The fuel savings alone have more than paid for the higher insurance several times over and the knowledge of no more "Engine Failure" warnings about the DPF has made my wife a happy driver again!
 
got me van back he has updated the ecu erased the errors and tryed to do a forced regeneration but unable to run forced regeneration now thinks it maybe the injectors whitch he says are £400 each x4 well i will have to see how it is also said their was a lot of airbag failures stored dont think this will have much to do with that
 
If I were you I would be seeking a second opinion.
Find an independent garage - try http://www.goodgaragescheme.co.uk - and get them to check out your car. A diesel specialist will be able to test the injectors and even recondition any needing replaced for considerably less money than the dealer. Also, if he is saying you "maybe" need all 4 injectors replaced then I would be asking how he knows this? Did he actually test them? Sounds a bit too much like "we don't know but let's try this" for my liking.
 
Personally, I try to avoid main dealers like the plague as I have had my fingers burned by them in the past (not Fiat though I might add).
In terms of work to my wife's car, I have used a garage in East Kilbride called CM garage services who are an Alfa/Fiat independent and who I couldn't fault so far.
In fact, we got a new timing chain kit, water pump and EGR valve fitted along with the inlet manifold cleaned out for less than we were quoted for the timing chain kit alone to be supplied and fitted at the "stealers"!!! The EGR and manifold being in an absolute mess thanks to previously having a DPF fitted to the car and it preventing 80 odd thousand miles of carbon exiting the engine properly. As a result, the car would barely move unless you revved the backside off it first, or let it warm up to loosen the carbon a bit first!
They had the car for a few days mind you, but at the price we paid and the work done to the car I really couldn't complain.
Also, the car became a little pocket rocket after this!:D
