P0654 is likely the error code for wiring issue on the rpm sensor. So check pins on the wiring loom etc. Does the rev counter move when you crank it over

Do you have a volt meter?
How old is battery?- they don't last forever.

I wonder if this is a another case of rotten earth strap .
What type of battery charger have you used and how long battery on charge for?

Sounds like 30A relay to the ECU
That failing

Fits with both no rev counter and P0657

You can try swapping a couple of identical relays over you might get lucky

However without some basic tools diagnosing problems are very hit and miss

The only information we can get is limited

Does the car centre locking work
Unknown

When you unlock the car does the dash LCD back light come on. Does the remote work
Unknown

When you put the keys in what lights come on
Unknown

After a few seconds of switching the ignition which go off
Unknown

After a few seconds of cranking do any more go off
Unknown

Does the pump prime
Yes

Does the REV counter bounce
No

With the above information

We would know if the body computer is reading the remote

We would know if the key transponder is read by the body computer

We would know the body and ECU were talking to each other

We would know some of the body to dash was working

We would know some of the voltages are present

Which is why some of these questions although seem silly do require answering to help narrowing down the next area of diagnosing

Do you own a multi meter/ or access to one

Do you own a scan tool or access to one

The key operates everything as it should. All lights on dash come on and go out as they should, leaving on what it should.
I've tried the jump lead earthing which makes no difference.
It now sounds like a machine gun when i turn the key over, so have the booster on the battery now.
I received the AA final findings and attached to this thread

Are you waiting now for the booster to top the battery up and then give it annother go or is your booster the connect up to the battery big jump pack.
