General Electric door mirror query

Having ordered a replacement drivers door mirror unit, I don't want to fall at the first hurdle. Does the interior adjuster knob just pull off separately or does it need to be prised off with the outer illuminated ring at the same time?

Having ordered a replacement drivers door mirror unit, I don't want to fall at the first hurdle. Does the interior adjuster knob just pull off separately or does it need to be prised off with the outer illuminated ring at the same time?

To answer my own question, DO NOT try to prise the knob or ring off. Simply prise off the complete interior trim panel with knob attached. All the electrics are attached to the trim, not the car body.
