Hi guys,

Been off the fourm for a while. The B got a flat tyre (rip in the sidewall:confused:), and I didn't see the point in getting it insured over here in the UK in the middle of winter, but now is about the time when I am going to get it running again.

So, work has resumed since last Saturday in this lovely sun. I took the headlights out to swap the Z plates around to make it suitable for the UK, and as I pulled the front bumper off, the plastic around the bit that mounts it to the bodywork cracked and snapped and it was a mess :bang: :bang: (I reckon the car had been in a bump with the PO, and the bumper had needed repair, so it looks like it was a cruddy Insurance job)

The Z plates are now swapped, and the bumper is Kind-of repaired (A little lop sided. Very frustrating) after A LOT of epoxy resin ;).

Little jobs are being started too, like stone chip filling-in, Idle Control Valve being replaced, Washer reservoir being fixed and all that jazz.

I just bought some software for my VW passat that is a diagnostic system, it does cool stuff like reading fault codes. I was wondering if there is anything of the kind that exists for the Barchetta? The B seems to be rigged with sensors and It would be handy to see what faults there are.

Sorry for the long winded post, but there has been quite a bit going on and I haven't had the time to be on the fourm a lot.

I will get photos of the damage to the bumper soon.

Thanks for your time,

Chris

The B looks haunted without its bumper and lights!

FiatECUScan supports the Barchetta

See here: http://fiatecuscan.net/SupportedVehiclesList.aspx

You will only need the free version as there are no CAN based modules on the 'B'.

With luck your VAG KKL cable/interface will work.

As you have an early model 'B' then you will require a 3 pin adapter cable. Only the later 'B's have the EOBD socket.
