Hi I must be missing something what's the link between the rev counter and the temp gauge my rev counter works on start up as well as the temp gauge but soon after the rev counter drops back to zero and so does the temp gauge, and then the handbrake light comes on and the abs light, when the rev counter starts working again the temp gauge comes back to life, and the handbrake light and abs lights go out. I've had all the fusebox out cleaned every fuse and relay and it's still beating me Even put 3 extra earths on Heeeelp its driving me mad

Hi

The engine management unit M010 sends data on temperature, RPM, warnings etc to the Instrument cluster E050 via a digital data bus. The cluster then processes the data and displays the appropriate information to the driver. The data bus has 2 wires, a White/Pink wire on Pin 5 of the Instrument cluster and a Black/Pink wire on Pin 6.

Unfortunately, faultfinding this kind of setup is a specialist area. Errors or a complete loss of data communications could give the symptoms you describe. Beyond checking the two wires and their connections mentioned above, there isn't a lot more I can suggest. You may have a fault in the Instrument cluster, which can be repaired by the likes of Cartronix in Portsmouth.

Thanks cluster been away to cartronix no faults so I can rule that our but I will check the wires in question
