General Dualogic crunching gears

My late 2005 1.2 Dualogic Eleganza occasionally gives a brief gear crunch, mostly when changing down from 4th to 3rd when I put my foot down going up a hill, but it's also done it a couple of times on flat roads.

Does anyone else's do this? I'm just wondering whether it's normal and because it doesn't always do a great job of timing the gear changes, or whether it's something that needs looking at.

I haven't noticed any problems when it changes up a gear.

Its definately not normal, the clutch is supposed to realign itself as wear takes place but maybe yours hasn't, does it do it in both auto & when you drive it in manual

To be honest, I haven't tried driving it in manual for ages - I'll give that a go though and see if I can cause it to happen. Then I'd be able to tell the service people how to reproduce the problem as well. Thanks.
