Hello there,

When I was learning to drive my instructors car had hill hold assist which in that 2 seconds would allow me to set the gas and clutch and drive off. I still haven’t got the confidence to do this in my panda as I don’t know if it has hill assist or if I need to turn it on.

Could anyone tell me if the car does have it? As this would really be a useful feature for me.

Thanks

as far as I know its only vehicles with ESP (£400 option!)
and very few Pandas I have seen have it. Normally higher spec cars

I could be wrong though

would make sense to be standard on dualogic ??

none of my 3 have had it.

I very much doubt the hill assist was included on a basic spec Panda or any Panda 169 for that matter. Best to find a hil on a private road and practice. With some practice, you should be able to go from brake to accelerator and apply the correct balance of revs and clutch without rolling back and without the hand brake.

As much as it may sound harsh it's fairly poor of your instructor to tea h you to rely on hill hold assist when he should be teaching you to use the handbrake especially if stopped for any length of time

That's the thing with modern instructors nowadays. They teach you how to pass your driving test but after you pass you have to "learn how to drive yourself".

I know the majority of instructors are not like this but most are very lazy.
