Carbon effect cap !! I will have you know its real carbon I thank you lol HEHE

My insurance is £500 with my mods added, the problem is until the car is 10 years old I cant set a value so I would only get normal average joe B money if it was stolen so thats why I am going to have a tracker fitted soon.

Its not just money its all the hours and hours of work I have put in that i would lose that would kill me.

Nice job btw!.. forget to mention earlier.. :D

Yeah, these tracking devices cost big moneys.. I'm thinking of trying something like http://www.aspicore.com/en/tuotteet_tracker.asp?tab=2&sub=2 or similar GSM/GPS based "thing", have couple old extra symbian phones so it won't need much of effort to try..

Just trying out that aspicore on my nokia n95, seem's to work ok.. :)
Maybe it dont have all the extra functions but tracking seems to work. :)

Doc, just flicked through your thread - I am still amazed at the progress you make, if it were not for the fact that I drove mine every day I would try to do the same but I am afraid as long as its my main motor I can only aspire to the standard you have set!

Hopefully one day I will be in a position to get mine off the road for a year and do a ground up until then I will continue to look at yours with admiration and frustration!!

Excellent work (y)

Day 3 on the polishing the engine cover :bang: what a slow going job and getting shot off all the little scatches and imperfections takes hours. I would like to get it finished before I go away at the weekend if I can, so keep an eye out for a finished picture soon (y)

hey doc, if I remove motor cover can I still drive my bee? this cover have some other function or just to hide sparks?... i will also polish it and paint, this is not 2 hour job and i need bee... thanks.

Hi
Yes you can take off the cover and still drive the B. (y)Painting the cover is quicker but I think polishing it gives you a better finish in the end.

Thanks everyone (y) she is coming along now after a good few hours spanner time.

Some good news is my stainless sports supersprint manifold has just turned up so now its time to order the gaskets from Fiat. Idont think I will get a chance to fit it before I go waywith work again at the weekend

I still have to order my new radiator but I will hold off until pay day me thinks as I am skint after my holiday. (n)

Hi, Doc, Doing a grand job on the B as always! (y)

Question for you, the supersprint manifold, where and how much for it, as i also want to purchase one.

Hi KC m8 (y)
I was lucky and picked up my SS 814501 manifold new/not used secondhand off eBay for £270 total.

I have looked around and have found you can get the manifold from the link below for £334 + £10 delivery Link

The quality of the manifold is great so real happy with it. (y)

Hope this helps KC.
Doc

thanks doc. ok. i remove this cover. so, with what should I polish it before painting? i try with some fine sandpaper to remove rust and there is difference, you can see shining (but i am not feeling my fingers any more...)... it is going fine on flat surfaces. but how should i remove rust between words on cover? :bang: i also buy a hand rotating... pistol... not :D a drill!!! with those tiny suffixes?? for cutting, brushing and else. i will try with this. or is there some fluid for cleaning aluminum rust? or else? :worship:
(i believe now is time to open my own thread)

Hi
I used 400,600,800,1500 grit sandpaper as well as a dremel. I finish with some metal polish to bring out the shine.
