You already been or do you do the evening slot?

I go at 6.30am most mornings suits me at that time, before the kids get up :)

i go mid/late afternoon just before the evening rush, nice and quiet then - free pickings of the freeweights :D

I used to run every morning but since ive been getting pressure from uni i end up going just before dinner to work up appetite, as im too tired in the mornings from the silly late nights..

I wish i lived near luke as he could be my motivator to go to the gym. Having had the pleasure of meeting him at a few meets i can describe him in my words as ' a not very tall brick sh*thouse!'

I too have high metabolism, eat crap but dont put on weight, starting to get a bit podgy now, but have no one to go with to the gym, must start but need someone to motivate me to go.

I do play 5 a side football once a week but as i am a goalkeeper i dont do much running about :(

Someone motivate me!

I dont go to the gym but i have a full multi gym at home and use it 2 to 3 times a week maybe a bit more. I use it when angrey so find i work out alot harder. I go to kickboxing twice a week and train at boxing once a week. Work out the best ways too. Appear to work out on weights more at the moment thou cause's misses is pregey lol. :bang: :bang: :bang:

(y) I have to train alone and it can be hard to sometimes to go that one rep extra, but its all state of mind :) You cant lift weights happy, and its so often conquered more in your mind- convince yourself you can and you will (obv. within reason :p ). Find yourself some "angry" music then its sorted ;) Just be prepared for it to take time before you see any substantial results and plough through the training plateau's (usually a good sign you need a routine change)...

lol, know what you mean there. Sole reason i go to the really is to let out my stress/anger and depression constructively :) Fitness and mass is just a welcomed byproduct ;)

Legs this morning for me, took about 3 hours to come round after!

Dont envy you, legs are my least favourite group. Always had big legs and very strong considering i hardly work them that much  Remember my first proper leg session though - got off the machine and collapsed on the floor  :D

No Gym for me.
When I am not training fully which would be 5 hours a day mixed sparring, bag, and pad work, I will do 500 minimum and up to 1,000 press ups and again 500 to 1,000 sit ups mixed stomach crunches a day just to keep me in the right frame of mind. Who needs a gym, full of posers anyway  :p

Pfft. Never. Went pole dancing once a week, will be getting my own soon but don't ever do anything that seems like i'm just exerting myself for the sake of getting fit!

i go to the gym three times a week, mostly do CV work though and only a little bit on weights, and i play baseball as well.

Just had to cancel my gym though and give up baseball :( cause i'm moving to london :D :slayer:

I really liked that gym as well Next Generation Club

im rather a fanatic, i train 3 to 4 times a week at the gym, i also play five a side three times a week and eleven a side for college on a wednesday afternoon, other than that i usually take the dog for runs and circuit train during PE at A Level, so yes in reply to you, i use the gym... a lot!

plus the girls round here are shallow and want that "perfect bloke" i know that im not, but as long as it makes me feel good and i look good enough then thats fine by me!

I spent ALL of last year at the gym, and as ANY of my flatmates or friends would tell you, it didn't help, except emtpy my pockets.

THIS YEAR however I've bought a new kayak, and paddle once a week, be it river, whitewater features, tees barrage, surfing in the sea, in the warm swimming pool trying to chat up majorly hot paddling babes (and failing mostly  ).

AND this january I bought myself a new traction kite. a 3.5 flexifoil bullet on handles. and literally within 3weeks of ownership (out everyday at least once, sometimes between lectures etc), I know have significanty improved my upper and lower arms, my back, and most noticably, I know have a chest!!! :worship:

but the 3.5 fixed bridle wasn't enough. on saturday I bought, an 11m de- power twinskin foil kite:worship: :worship: :worship: which is WAY more lifty, but also a lot less scary than the 3.5 fixie (put it this way, when it gusts I go with it, with the 11m twinskin it gusts, I have control, I'm also strapped into a harness so less strain on upper body).

So yeah, IMO gyms are a waste of time and money, and you look and feel like a clown.

Buy a heffing huge great big kite and look like popeye within a month GURENTEED!!!

also I do actually fly, so technically I'm more like superman than the rest of you :p:

I use to go weight lifting and running and swimming 5-6 times a week, until i was so big that my lungs cudn't cope with getting oxygen to my muscles. I ended up having an asthma attack, and being put on a ventilator.

I have now gone down from 16 stone, to 13 1/2 stone. But i am now fat eventhough i have lost 2 1/2 stone.

Never do too much, Believe Me. I was only 17 when it happend, 6 months later and i am constantly laid up and losing my breath.

Make sure when you go that you follow a program, and don't go all out eating fish, steak and pasta 4 times a day like i was.

Its building weights for me today and its gona be pecks and arm's! just a hour or so session should do it...... i put x4 per week, but i go x5 a week religiously. I usually have 1 day off in the week (normally wednesdays depending) and sunday - day of rest :)

Glad to see there is quite a few other people that share the same intrest, good on you! But i kno there is quite alot of people that posted in this thread that dont like to go gym, but there are so many other ways to get fit...... like walking and bedroom sports ;) lol

maybe we should get a FF hunks calendar going :p lol

A heart attack does enforce a 'lifestyle change'.

I go to the gym mid morning. No blokes only Yummy Mummies to look at. I get out of breath before I start my routine.

Tripping over your own tongue on the treadmill is not a good look.

Cheers

D

i dont go to the gym, havent got a membership atm but will be sorting that in a couple of months when everything is sorted financially

i do exercises at home, run and bike, aswell as sail and kite (power kite) so do a bit, but want to get in better shape, als be more toned :( miss the days when i used to do county crosscountry and then got into triathalon, my fitness levels are far too atrocious for that now though :(
