I spent ALL of last year at the gym, and as ANY of my flatmates or friends would tell you, it didn't help, except emtpy my pockets.
THIS YEAR however I've bought a new kayak, and paddle once a week, be it river, whitewater features, tees barrage, surfing in the sea, in the warm swimming pool trying to chat up majorly hot paddling babes (and failing mostly

).
AND this january I bought myself a new traction kite. a 3.5 flexifoil bullet on handles. and literally within 3weeks of ownership (out everyday at least once, sometimes between lectures etc), I know have significanty improved my upper and lower arms, my back, and most noticably, I know have a chest!!! :worship:
but the 3.5 fixed bridle wasn't enough. on saturday I bought, an 11m de- power twinskin foil kite:worship: :worship: :worship: which is WAY more lifty, but also a lot less scary than the 3.5 fixie (put it this way, when it gusts I go with it, with the 11m twinskin it gusts, I have control, I'm also strapped into a harness so less strain on upper body).
So yeah, IMO gyms are a waste of time and money, and you look and feel like a clown.
Buy a heffing huge great big kite and look like popeye within a month GURENTEED!!!
also I do actually fly, so technically I'm more like superman than the rest of you
