Hi, not been on here for a while, I have a 2002 mk2 Punto without PAS. I don't mean it is not working, it was not made with it. No City button on the Dash and no place for it. Also has 13" wheels with genuine Fiat trims, they are usually 14s. Not a concern for me as the steering is not too bad, just curious really. So do I have the only one without it as never seen another. Thanks.

im sick of lazy people who cant turn their steery wheels in their euroboxes and commented today weirdly that power steering is a curse to make it easy for people who really shouldnt be on the road

In the manual it does list the punto using 13 as having mechanical steering. Which must be the good old fashioned variable rate racks fitted to non p/s cars

I'd like to have the specs. I've always believed that "uprating" a Mk2 to non PAS was impossible, but it seems that there must be the parts out there.
Hi, sorry for the late reply, I forgot my password and got locked out Not sure if it is an import it is right hand drive. Defininately a pre facelift mk2. Odd thing is, it is an ELX but has manual windows no central locking and non colour coded bumpers. Steering is much lighter than one that has non working pas. Must be an iport I guess. Car is genuine, Hpi checked it. Bought off a copper whose mum owned it 8 years and only 40k. Mite contact the dealers just for curiosity. Thnx

Oh, stuff like which rack, what top mounts, etc. Just in case I ever have to convert a Mk2 to sanity.
It's easy peasy on the Mk1s, fairly simple on the Sei.
Definitely non PAS. No motor fitted to column. Will see what we can do with specs. Drives just as well as one with PAS to be fair just a bit heavier steering. Mite use no PAS as a selling point

less to go wrong Fiat number on rack is 46534836, I googled it and one result was a regulation page for the Punto Abarth Racing club of Ireland. One bit says Pas motor can be removed but rack must be this number. seems like they made a few of these non Pas Puntos but maybe not here. Im guessing Irish import.
