Technical 2001 Fiat Punto mk2 electric power steering communication

Hi,

I’ve got a 2001 Fiat Punto HGT Mk2 with electric power steering, does anyone know what protocol of communication is used between the e steering control unit and the multi-timer unit and how can you test if it’s working ie oscilloscope?
