Well I bit the bullet and purchased a front disc brake conversion kit from AutoBella.
Fairly straightforward to fit, just went round the block to test and it stops great.
A worthwhile upgrade I think.

If you have retained the original wheels/tyres, just be careful in the wet, as even in the dry, stamp on the brakes hard, and you will find that you will be able to lock the front wheels
I didn't even replaced mine. I mean I did put new discs some time ago, I needed to. But I got them the same specs. 😁
 
The AutoBella kit fits the original wheels and setup so quite an easy swop.
He was talking about performance. Says...

To be fair id rather be able to stop the car than press and not stop, you drive and brake in accordance with your cars ability normally.
Me too I had too much of the press and pray brake systems when I was young.
