Technical Damn Alternator belt >_<

finally got round to trying to change the alternator belt on the sei only to find i cant undo the damn top bolt!

i didnt have to remove at wheel arch lining thank god!

I'm assuming the only bolt needing to be slackened is the top one of the alternator.

only problem is i can get a spanner on it but cant turn it and my socket goes on but cant get a rachet on it!

are there any other bolts i need to undo? and im guessing the best way forward is a deep 17mm socket?

Need to loosen both.

I think it's 16mm?

But an 8mm ball end allen key will often be easier -- use a peice of tube or socket on the short end for more leverage.
