Dave says to use Capenters Pliers

But a the tool is only £6 - £8 online

Apprently now you can buy a split boot - which means no stripping down - just cut old 1 off and clamps
A fix new one in place - fill with grease - glue the 2 pieces together - clamps and done

having worked on french **** for many years i always boasted the benefits of sticky boots by bailcast
however punto is easy to do once do right and forget
therese lots of room for a good quality tie wrap on the cv head if you havent got the right equipment so i would recommend doing it the proper way and splitting the shaft from the joint
unless of course you own a cv bellows

Best way is to get a stretchable boot and a plastic cone to ram it over the CV.

Then there's little to no dismantling required. 4 bolts to take the wheel off, 3 bolts to remove the end of the shaft from the hub and probably 30 minutes get the boot on.

You can also use wire cutters to crimp the clips.
