you would be an anomlaie case like me if youve got it, especially with no family history.

You normally get it when youre young (only a few years old) or old

Its in my sig the link to diabetes UK who i am raising money for

blimey how much did you eat before you cut down then? :p

ryan drinking lots dont mean you defently got it, but you should get checked, a chemist usaly does it for free, if its clear you can ask doctor what else it is in 10 days time. he will probably say its summer mate

according to the american diabetes association (i think thats the name)...
"Steroids are commonly used in medicine, and their effects on blood sugar are often seriously underestimated. To give the bottom line first, steroids seriously increase the blood sugar level of people who have diabetes, and they cause or uncover diabetes in many people who don’t yet have it".

Time to get off my inhalers, i think.

I think you should take the test first before jumping to any conclusions and panicking yourself.

One word of advice though. If the line shows up in the square window you have bought the wrong testing kit :D

Type 1 diabetes is 'early onset', you're normally born with it as it is a genetic herediatry defect that can run in families.

Type 2 diabetes is 'late onset', and can happen at any time in life. Passing out is a sign of hyperglycaemia where your blood sugar levels go too high.

If you indulge in too many simple carbs/ sugars, you can get 'reactive hypoglycaemia'. This is caused by the body over producing insulin in response to excessive glucose and your blood glucose levels drop too low. Normally happens after eating a big meal, especially if you haven't eaten much all day.

Get your blood glucose level checked out. It's a simple procedure and will at least rule out any other problems.

Also, if you drink too much alcohol not only do you overload your body with carbohydrates you also cause de-hydration. That can cause excessive thirst.

Other than that, as Dave says you must be pregnant :p

After five years training they finally let us loose with needles :D Most places usually just give a 'spot test' though which may be an indicator of diabetes. A proper glucose tolerence test is usually done at the surgery or a clinic as it needs to be done of a period of time.
