Wouldn't you say it was put like this to match the wing and bumper? I mean they can't really be that stupid I think. The chassis leg was almost intact, no major deformation or anything.

I could go and tell them that they did a silly job but I think they would put it in my face like they couldn't match the bumper had they not pull it like that.

Below is the stripped car after the accident. No repairs whatsoever, just stripped.

Actually, well spotted and in hindsight that does look a little bent but as with insurance companies, they make you feel grateful that they actually fixed it, sad but true.

Is it safe to drive?
In my opinion it is definitely save to drive. It could be bent a liitle but that shouldn't be a problem if your alignment is fine. The two "chassis legs" seem intact. Don't worry at all and enjoy it (y)

Mine looks exactly the same from the front so it was clearly in a front end collision sometime. I had a friend mechanic look over it, he saw the repairs but was happy with the fact that it was a light front end collision and seemingly very similar to yours.
The yearly checks in Austria are very strict and the car was passed no problems, I only have a rear axle bush issue, which need replacing.
I am happy to drive mine so I don't see and huge issue with yours.
A future front end collision might be more serious with the previous damage as stated by the previous poster, but an accident is an accident and the dynamics can never be pre determined with or without safety features.
Oh well my opinion, don't take it to the bank.

Since that leg is not smashed and maybe just bent a little it still holds its structural integrity so don't worry and if the wheel alignment is OK it would be as good as brand new (y)

The damage never really reached any wheels it just hit the top of the car. Thank you all for your advice.

This is the 2nd front end collision for this car :p When I bought it I was missing the engine serial plate just behind the bonnet so it did get replaced at least once :p Well what can I say, this was indeed a light crash but nevertheless very costful.

I will probably take it home tomorrow, provided the insurance gives the ok to be picked up. Will let you guys know. Anyway, I will be going home shortly so a 300 mile trip should tell if it's alright or not. :)

Safe to drive yes, safe to crash again, no!

Chasis legs are designed to be used once and only once, be it smashed, buckled or slightly bent.

I personally wouldn't have been happy with that being repaired like that and in the UK it would have had to have gone on a JIG to be correcty aligned etc. That's another reason why in the UK it'd probably have been written off.

But as long as your happy then that's fair enough, I just hope the front end of your car is even involved in anything more than a minor knock.

Looking and the damage, it was not a lot worse than mine, expect that the back end took a hit as well.

Although the damage is visibly higher, I think they changed more or less the same parts. :)

@Ballackcanavaro99 Thank you man, you can imagine the joy in my eyes as well. :)
