Conditions. It had just stopped hammering it down before i got on the Mway.

Fully comp insurance is fixing it, should get it back late september. There is no stuctural damage to the car at all, just cosmetic! oh the washerbottle bit the dust to!

Supprisingly its not written off

normally if the car is less than a year old and u totally trash it, they replace the shell if all the running gear is ok

it looks like u been very lucky

That's a bitch BBS! - but at least you'll get it sorted. The main thing, of course is that you're OK.
Could have been much worse.

just very curious! my m8 had an accident in a new toyata avencis (I know what a disgrrace but a company car anyway). he was on motorway and back end just went wild car,was written off. doors did not open car, was apparently a squashed ball and no airbag deployed. He hurt his knee and foot. I know that the car has 5 stars, but at the end of the day its all about luck no matter how many stars a car is given. Tbh all new cars are quite safe and just depands on the situation a car is crashed in.

probably not, wet conditions are just pure evil if there is alot of standing water, the rear sounds like it aquaplained.
Ive had a scary moment in my old rover while going around a roundabout, must of been someones oil leak on it and the rear wanted to go for the 360, pure luck I cought the tail in time to keep it going and that no other traffic where on the roundabout as well

That is a shame mate, though just be thankfull your ok, in time to come the car will become a distant memory, a severe injury however will not.

On the subject of the car being repaired, I personnally would have preferred it to be written off. Then you can start afresh, from my experience of my car being repaired, its one niggle after another. Hopefully though you won't experience this.

I used to own an old chevette, and being rear wheel drive I had plenty of scary moments in the wet. Thankfully luck was always on my side. However my luck changed when I changed to a brand new Saxo, it ended up smashed good and proper after only 6 days :(

Hi,

Ouch, must have meant a change of pants !!!!.

If it were me, I would take a lot of photos and keep a copy of the parts replaced. Any competent garage will know it's been in an accident if you come to part exchange it and will want to know how bad it was. If you have got the evidence to show it wasn't bad, it won't affect the value.

My wife reversed our new Ulysse into a wall and caused £1,500 of damage. The first repair wasn't good as they cut corners so I made them do it again and now you would never know, so give it a good inspection when you get it back.

Good Luck.

Andy

Metal can be repalced you can't. Glad you're ok.

I've been told that this is why garages alwats put your best tyres on the back of the car. If the back gives way the only thing between you and a smash is decent tread depth. If the front goes awash at least you stand a chance of steering your way out of it.
