I sort of liked the R50 MINI, it grew on me over the years.
I didn't really like R56 - it's just a bit too fat.

I really think the F56 is vile:

I'm glad I chose the 'other' car Frank Stephenson styled (and got right). People berate the 'Nuova' nova 500 for being style over substance, but that's right in a great deal of ways - it really has style. The New, new, new Mini really doesn't.

Ain't that the truth.. I miss my old Mini - my 500 is now as near as a modern car gets to it with it's rorty little TA engine and low/jiggly ride with excellent handling.

The same applies to mini originals, they just look so tiny on the road.

We have a 2012 R56 and I must admit I really like the new look hatch, as its the first to use an all new 'common' platform I expect all other minis to see a revamp in the next couple of years.

I've heard there are plans for a 5 door hatchback (not the countryman) which I can only conclude is mini's direct answer to the 500L

Looks like each model slowly gets its face ppulled back. Really don't like the look of the new one, 05 version isn't too bad though.

In a few years time as all the cars around it get fatter and uglier, the R56 will look good too. Some time after that the F56 will begin to look good. It's just how automotive styling works
