My HGT has all the toys but the fuel computer is rubbish. It claims 40s mpg sometimes nearly 50mpg) when it never ever gets more then 35 real world mpg (brim to brim method).

could you tell me is this the right cable http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/USB-DIAGN...k_rvr_id=263679664474&clk_rvr_id=263679664474Its very easy to do. Simply plug in the cable to the EOBD2 connector. Load up FES. Click Body - Proxy Align > Connect
Press execute - Read all the info on the side panel telling you what to do even though all you do is turn the key to off when it tells you to for at least 5 seconds then turn it back on.
The program will re-write all the bodys data and realign the mileage.
Then just disconnect.
If you contact me via email: [email protected] ill send you some screenshots and some other info which may be important
if the ECU knows the mileage and the clock knows it's wrong, why didn't fiat just make it so whatever clocks you stick in the car the ECU just tells the clocks the correct mileage as the ECU always knows the mileage anyway.

to do the proxy align, i have frree ecu scan at the moment but plan on getting the full version, would i be able to use this cable to turn off air bag lights, or do i have to bridge wires on cable, if so does any one have a pic of the wires i need to bridge please.
Why do i need that? the lead i have can turn off engine management lightget yourself a lead like the one you posted and an elm327 above v1.3a
to get the full range you'll need eml and a kkl interface (like the one on ebay)
to do airbags you'll need the modify the kkl interface.
what happens when you get a new ecu, clocks change to 0?
or this kit
http://www.gendan.co.uk/product_FESPKG.html
available via the bay too, thats where mine came from
proxi aligning them only takes the info from the ECU and sends to the clocks, so i don't know, as far as i know the clocks wont send the ECU info so i'd imagine there's a way of telling the ECU the correct mileage.
there the ones i have done, but it will not connectmake sure you get the correct pins as its the pins on the obd socket side
it the interface pins are facing away from you, with the most pins on the top row, the your looking at the 3rd from the left and 2nd from the right
thats just a kkl and elm lead
my point was answering why fiat didn't make the clocks update from the ecu, as it would allow a new ecu to reset the clocks to 0.
The only way known to change the mileage in the ecu is to fully reset the ecu - and I dont mean reset as in just losing the learned data
but the clocks can't be set back so that wouldn't happen.
