I hope this isn’t getting repeated but trying to post a new thread keeps failing, this is try number 3!

Anyway, hi.

I’ve recently bought a 2009 panda dynamic with factory fogs and I’ve been led to believe that cornering lights are possible but I can’t find anything in the menu on the dash.

The lights work perfectly from the switch but don’t come on when indicating and/or cornering, is it possible to enable with Multiecuscan etc or have I been told porkies?

Thanks

Ben

Why don’t you take it back to where you purchased it from and put the question to them. :)

three Pandas 2005 - 06 and 11

only the 11 has fog lights but no cornering. Might depend on trim level but I haven't seen any on the road

later Puntos yes

Panda I haven't seen. No idea why not most of the lights are controlled by the body computer but it appears Fiat decided not to implement it.

I have the 11 handbook here and double check but odds aren't looking good

Thanks guys, shame as it would have been nice but it’s not like I’ve lost anything.

Hi All

when you say cornering lights, do you mean those lights that come on and go off when you turn, if yes then i think the 2009 car is too old to have them.

Maybe Fiat made a decent enough headlamp that shines wide enough not to have a silly little light coming on and off all the time. also didn't feel they needed then to please a group of people under the pretentions of being safer.

there you go Rant over,

ie make a decent headlight and drive safely in the areas you can see.

The brightness and beam position of main headlights is heavily regulated
Hence the use of footlights for cornering a lot less restrictions on beams

fog lights aren't real cornering lights although there is a trend to add this functionality to most cars nowadays and looks cool

this video shows what real cornering lights should do

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xalQzW9xb94

which goes back to the original DS

but is now only on High end cars

IF your panda was new now you could go twice as bright.. without concern about beam pattern ( my rant..)

My punto has cornering lights..

My workmate stopped on the way home one day to tell me my light kept going off

Worryingly ..
I see it as a signal the vehicle is about to turn left..

Often its a French car with a blown right foglight

Was it in the advertising blurb when you bought it..?

Some ads are just 'cut and paste'

(A favourite is alloy wheels.. when the panda in the photos has steels)
