Im trying to replace my coolant temp sensor and I'm struggling to remove it. I presume I should be just trying to loosen the nut at the base of the sensor? If so, ive tried WD40 to help loosen it, but it still wont budge.

Any ideas?

So, I managed to change the sensor but my problem still exists. Temp gauge not given a reading.

However, when connect my new sensor the temp gauge went up to 70 degrees straight away. Steadily climbed when the engine was running. I turned off the ignition and started the engine again. Then the temp gauge stopped working again.

Is there anything else I could change to resolve this issue? The wiring has been checked and is all ok. Could it be the actual dial that's causing the issue?

Thanks.
