Cheers guys, but dont think I'll ever find out who done it unfortunately.

Anyways, cant really do much about it only repair it, I've decide to do the bonnet and boot at same time, i didnt do them the last time I painted it.

Heres the plan -> totally smooth - de-badge, de-wiper, de-washer jet.

Not going to delock the boot. Going to move the washer jets up onto the scuttle panel

Also goin to smooth the wings, make up and indicator to fit inside the mirror casing.

Well thats the plan, how much of it gets changed along the way you'll have to wait and see.

Work starts tomorrow morning, get car cleaned, get garage cleared, strip it down and start masking up stuff, de ja vu....

It aint my garage, just getting use of uncles one for a few days.

Phase 1 underway - Washer jets moved and re-routed.

Luckly I noticed a hole already in the engine bay to feed pipe through, was a small hex hole just the right size for the pipe...result!

There moved up in line with where they were originally. Tested and adjusted to make sure they still spray onto the windscreen.

Pipe has to be secured under the scuttle, plenty of places to attach it to.

Have to strip the paint off them, hopefully they go back to the same black as the scuttle.

Speed holes, they make the car go faster

colin im gutted for ya, love to get hold of them! On the bright side roll on the mods, it seems to have give you a kick start! How long do you rekon it'll all take?

So, here is what I got done today...

Boot debadged, dewipered, fixed crack near boot lock, wiper hole filled with piece of metal, few layers of filler on it, almost there

Bonnet debadged, 2 pieces of metal to fill recess, washer jet holes also covered with metal and skimmed over with isopon, both nearly there, just need smoothing.

Wing indictors removed, again holes filled with metal. Going to reroute the wire back into the car, into cabin then into door, up to wing mirror. Have to sort out some amber L.E.D.'s and resistors, get them mounted inside the wing mirror case. This is still a work in progress, dont know where there goin exactly or how many - (where ever i drill the holes lol)

Need a replacement mirror glass, 1 came out fine with no hassle, other one could have been a replacement already, had it half way out and then just cracked.

Filled the deep scratches on drivers door. Not had a chance to smooth of the filler yet.

Took my camera with my but forgot to take pictures while I was doing it, hopefully get another good run at it tomorrow, plan is to have it ready for painting friday.

getting there slowly but surely. Most of the car has been rubbed down, still needs a bit more filler on parts just to get them 100%.

Removed rear side windows, window seal & seals on roof, makes it a bit easier to mask up. Then everything is just dumped inside the car.

Still hoping to be ready for painting tomorrow, as its ment to be a good day.

Got another few hours at it this afternoon and this evening...more filler more sanding, and some masking up for good measure...

I may have to take out shares in David's, each time I rub it down I notice little imperfections...but its almost there now. Few stone chips in the bonnet that need to be rubbed down and it should be ready for bit of primer and key'ing in.

Still need to mask up drivers door window and back, then mask off arches and under sills, front and rear with cardboard, stop any dust blowing up.

Yes M20B25, ment to be fairly good on Saturday, so Ive pushed back painting til then. Getting lend of gas blower heater, so will get that on the go a few hours before painting, get the shed nice and warm and dry!

Just trying to find some orange LED's, seem to be plenty on ebay, but dont fancy waiting 3 weeks for them to be delivered.

Maplins have a few, so will have a look with them tomorrow, but there probably gonna be 2.5v which means using resistor to let in work 12v - 14v...

Im leaning more towards a strip, mounted on the inside of mirror casing, with holes drilled to let the light shine through, then refilling the holes with a clear perspex dowel, forming it to follow the curves of the casing.

This is the plan...

Dude i cant believe what happened, what a bunch of *******'s, chances are if its someone local, they will just do it again when its done, you need to break there legs(y).

Yeah defo get the heater otherwise it will prob orange peel again.

Awesome idea with the mirrors, you will need some plastic polish for the ends, as when you cut the rods it will be really hard to get a good finish on them:) i've been thinking about doing some different type of day run/led sidelights and was thinking of doing a similar thing in the inside of the headlights.

good luck with it mate:)

Bbbrrrrr....its not too warm today, not too dry eithier!

Ultimatum, where are you gonna put the led's in headlights?

All smoothed down with wet/dry now, primered up and degreased. Still a few small imperfections to sort, just wee bits that need a bit more smoothing. Not much else I can do today, cant start spraying in that weather, so still hoping its good tomorrow.

As I cant do much else, gonna make a start on the mirror indicators. Going to get the LED's and wire later. Cant seem to find the perspex rods anywhere local, so might need to change the plan as I go along.

You seam to be makeing good progress with this. Im looking forward to see how the wing mirrors turn out as i woudl possibly lie to do something similar to min one day.
