Punto (Mk2/2b) Colinf1's 2000 Mk2 8v.

Introduction

Hi all,

Heres my progree blog of my work in progress

Bought it in May,

then after a good service and wash/polish

then after i done tints...

and carbon fibre effect badges

then alloys

cc'd wing mirrors

hopefully be getting a few bits n piece to make it look like this soon

Door handles will probably be done, but leaving them in for now, ill wait til its in the garage til i take them out.

Not too sure about debading, i like my carbon fibre badges, & I find the rear wiper too useful as rear screen gets very dusty!

Stripped down 1 of the alloys (the 1 i got the petrol on initially), put it in a large tray with a small amount of petrol, wasnt long until the petrol was a swirling silver mix!

Rest of the wheels are gonna be rubbed down and filled, no need to strip them.

If you de-wiper the boot and fill the hole, apply some good rain repellent on the glass and you'll never need to wipe it again as it's almost a vertical window as it is.

Use Nitromors on the alloys if you have any. Works better than petrol?

can even use it on front window and wont get smearing when u do use the wiper. been tempted to get some myself. but ive been tempted for quite a while, just never got round to it. lol.

lets just wait and see how this turns out, before I open my repainting shop lol...

It looks ok indoors with the lights on, but might be different story when its outside in daylight.

Was tight to get car in garage, got it in so it was tight squeeze at passenger side, so put trolley jack lenght ways across the rear beam, rise it up and managed to get it in another bit.

Clear coat turned out to be a mess....went all orange peel effect, not sure why though...

Colour & Blending looks ok, but its this orange peel thats really annoying me now. Dont know how im gonna sort it, wet sand & polish seems to be the only option.

wow man thats a good job, shame about the orange peel though:( could be a few things though its either damp, laqure was too thick, or the spray pattern wasnt fine enough.

despite that its going to look **** hot when its done(y)
