Hi guys I've decided to change the clutch in my fiat panda 2011its suffering with clutch judder any advice on which clutch is best suited to this car thanks

Clutch judder is rarely the clutch

Gearbox input shaft wobbling up and down is fairly likely

Engine mounts are also fairly common


Engine not running correctly also fairly common


I would first look through the inspection hole at top of the gearbox, if there is oil in there it will need clutch,input bearing and oil seal


To answer your question I prefer the "feel" of the original AP clutch to transmech or blue print ones but that said they all get the job done

I believe Valeo "feel" good and depending on budget will probably try one next


Make sure you order the correct one the 69hp are slightly bigger and some online sellers are selling the cheaper smaller clutch for the 69hp as it still fits

Thanks mate I'm getting the clutch done at a reputable local garage the springs and shocks I am doing myself as previously discussed about rattling noise from rear end so while it is on axle stand will be easier to have a look around while I'm under there will also be able to inspect the bump stops aswell .I thought my days of home mechanics were over but my son who's car it is will be assisting me and I'm enjoying it while the weather is ok

Is the judder worse if you release the pedal slowly

Clutch, gearbox problem You can see the pessure plate here And from further back The inside is normally covered in oil if the input seal/bearing has gone

Should be dry on the inside, if there's oil on the inside the input drive shaft seal has gone, most often due to the input bearing cage disintergrating

Hi koaler when I took the offside damper off the springs stayed in place the holder didn't drop down its in a fixed position so probably need a spring compresser

You need to undo one bolt from both shocks( NS and OS) to allow it to swing down

Both sides of the car on axle stands, you don't have to jack it so high if you remove both rear wheels

They have made it harder than needs be

It's easier to just remove the shock lower bolt while the car is still on the ground,

The older gearboxes have a small input support bearing that's pretty much shielded by the adjacent get so runs dry. The bearing and seal should be replaced when the clutch is done. It's more cost but simply hoping will just oil up your new clutch. Ask me how I know.

Is your gearbox to subframe /dog bone mount as it's called ok as I had a clutch judder and that was my problem. I did a quick video on the mount do a search it's on here somewhere.
