Amazon.co.uk: Transcend 16GB DrivePro 200 Car Video Recorder with Built-In Wi-Fi: Explore similar items

found a problem though my Atom based net book wont play the footage due to the HD using way too much memory (and my desk top just freezes)

plays fine on the hd tv via the usb in though

I note you have the filesizes set to 1min - there is a train of thought that this doesn't do the camera much good since the unit is working overtime each time it is saving video.
I noticed quite a few of the reviews on Amazon said they were having problems with the time/date resetting every time power was lost - even after updating to latest firmware.
You've not mentioned this so presumably yours is fine.
I can't help wonder why some users are getting good cams whilst others are getting faulty? (reminds me of the saga with my DR32)

May I ask a Q of those with the 720p dual camera installation?- does the LED screen show just the front camera, or can it be selected to display the rear camera, i.e.effectively turning it into a reversing camera?

I ask 'cos I've been considering retro-fitting reversing sensors, but consider that I may be better with a dual camera set up which doubles as reversing camera. So,I'm also considering something like E-PRANCE New Car DVR Mirror Rearview Mirror + Dual: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics which seems to effectively become a reversing camera- any experiences out there?

Ta.

i got a cheapo one off ebay for under £11 (sorry if they've been mentioned on here- it's a long thread!)

i originally just wanting something cheap as it was for my bike but i was impressed with it so much i ordered one for the car.. it says it's HD but i'm not sure it's quite HD quality but it's more than acceptable. bunged an 8gb card in it i had lying around and it records in 10 min increments over writing the last one recorded when it is full assuming you'd have uploaded it if it was needed by that point.

here's a vid already on youtube.. my mate in his remapped audi that was going to leave my crappy fiat but it didn't work out that way :D

like i say.. not amazing HD quality but for £11 it's pretty good

Yep- I already have one of those, thanks.

I'm actually looking for a different one to use as a dual rear view/reversing camera, and then move my older camera (like yours) to a different, less frequently used car.

My F70 shows front with the rear as PiP. You can press a button on the remote to have the rear with the front as PiP but default is front with rear as PiP

My GoPro died after a software update, emailed gopro people a few days ago but no reply yet :(

So... finally time to buy a purpose made dash cam.

Ruled out so many like the i1000, bluckvue (all),miwitness etc etc...

Does anyone use the mivue 388 camera?
It's not a twin camera :( but it does everything else and is full HD with a decent bit rate. So far i haven't heard anything bad about it expect the motion detection is sensitive... Doesn't mean anything to me though.

Also back to the road hawk HD, though i'm not sure it's the best at anything despite the overwhelming reviews.

Hey Andy, have you got a picture of the mount for this? (The transcend one)

Hi everyone:wave: found the right place, thanks scout.

I have been reading the dash cam thread and watching the vids and want a dash cam.

Now first things first, I only want a small cam that can sit in front of my mirror and for it to be hard wired in, not cig lighter.

What have people bought that's quite small?
Do they record over previous footage unless you tell it not too?
How have you wired it in?

Thanks
