:confused: its ok for mrs dave type person to write letters and stuff an use net, work type stuff though isnt it?

or a student for student type work, not games

in the same way you can walk instead of taking your car.

a sempron with half a gig of ram would be ok for entry level use of XP, but not good enough for vista. you'd be waiting 3-5 mins to boot, and word would take ages to open, if it could even open once vista has taken all that ram and then created a huge page file on the HDD to work (slowly) from.

I don't think 800 will work, 400 should maybe 533 at a push but I'm not 100% sure.

as for your pc Dave it think yours is 667 or 800.

here my pc speck

cpu= AMD AM2 Athlon 64 4200+ Dual Core 2.2GHz, 2x 512KB Cache, Retail Energy Efficient
mobo= Gigabyte GA M61P-S3, NF6100, S AM2
memory= 2GB (2x1GB) CorsairTwinX XMS2, DDR2 PC2-6400 (800)
DVD RW = Optiarc (Sony/NEC) AD-7170S-0S
HARDRIVE= Seagate ST3500630AS 500GB Hard Drive SATAII 16MB Cache 7200RPM
CASE = Antec Nine Hundred

so looks like it should work in mine? :confused:

Yup, that memory will work in yours, cos it's the same speed. But I doubt, Mrs Dave's pc will work with that memory.

Yeah, just send it back and get the stuff you need for Mrs Dave's. Just gotta find that out now.

Cos I remembered you a running 32 bit so will only support 3.3Gb of RAM.
